Motive for the start of project:
This program brings overseas technical trainees from developing countries to Aomori.
Aomori provides the trainees with the of required skills and through interaction with people living in Aomori, contributes to the economic development and the prosperity of their countries.
Outline and Progress of Project:
Implementing technical training and deepening the global understanding and cooperation of citizens of Aomori.
In 2003 6 trainees accepted were (2 from Paraguay and 4 from China )
In 2004 3 trainees accepting were (Brazil, Paraguay and China)

Since 1996 onward
(entrusted by the Prefectural Government)
Affiliations with other Organization:
Aomori Prefecture
Contacts organization recommending technical Trainees, and deals with formalities to enter into Japan.
Iwate International Association, Akita International Association
Will implement joint trip of overseas technical trainees this year.
Expenses:
Budget in 2003: 18,932,000Yen
Difficulties encountered and Solutions:
Pre-technical training Japanese language study was implemented ,However ,the trainees’ levels of mastering the Japanese language were different.
Therefore, Japanese language lessons were impleme along with their technical training.
Results and Future Prospects:
Accepted 6 trainees in 2003. They achieved their aims.
The foundation to accept trainees.
Problems:
Dueto the abolition of the pre-technical traing Japanese language stud from 2004, we must find an appropriate way to respond to trainees who enter the program with insufficient Japanese skils.
