Starting Motion:
To nurture the development and interaction of young leaders from Brazil through the visits in specialized field and exchange activities.
Outline:
Brazil to Ibaraki
  1. Participants:
    Fwo participants will be chosen based on the recommendations of the Chairman of BISA.
  2. Details:
    • Welcome Party
    • Exchange with Association for relatives of people who emigrated from Ibaraki Prefecture.
    • Visit to the family homes (areas) of participants.
    • Visit to places of culture, industry, and/or other places of interest in Ibaraki.
Progress of Project:
When this program had started in 1996, we had sent 2 delegates each time from the Chamber of Commerce and other groups to Brazil every other year, where they had cultural exchange with the young people from BISA, and visited farms established by immigrants from Ibaraki. But we focus on inviting descendants of Ibaraki immigrants back to Ibaraki from 2003.

Results and Future Prospects:
In 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002 and 2003 we invited 2 descendants of Ibaraki immigrants back to Ibaraki, where they experienced exchange with associations in Ibaraki related to Japanese migration, and various youth groups.
In 1997, 1999 and 2001, we sent 2 delegates each time from the Chamber of Commerce and other groups to Brazil, where they had cultural exchange with the young people from BISA, and visited farms established by immigrants from Ibaraki.
In order to continue the success of the program, networking opportunities between young Japanese and Brazilian are presently being planned focusing on inviting decendants of Ibaraki immigrants back to Ibaraki.
