50 years after World War II, and marking the 50th year of the United Nations, this symposium, held in Ishikawa, was proposed by the United Nations as a forum for new discussion on peace and stability of North East Asian countries. As we consider our local government to be a part of the international community, we decided to contribute our support to the hosting of the symposium.

- Results and Future Prospects:
-
- Thanks to the achievements over the past 10 consecutive years, this symposium has been able to gain high praises from its participants. Many outstanding experts and specialists from various countries in Northeast Asia have gathered here and, through active dialogue and expanding cooperation, contributed to the promotion of regional exchange and the creation of a peaceful and stable environment.
- In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of this event Mr. Genshitsu Sen, who is the chairman of the United Nations Association of Japan, delivered a speech and a seminar to introduce to high school students the plan that the United Nations are working on to promote world peace. We were honored to have in attendance not only ordinary citizens baut also younger generations who bear our future. Using this symposium in Northeast Asia as a base, we have caught people's attention regarding the value of peace and stability of the world.
