- How the program started:

Kyoto Prefecture started the Program, with the increasing demand for local government with their accumulated experiences to be engaged in international cooperation.
In particular, it has become highly important for Kyoto Prefecture to promote international cooperation with various countries and regions in the world by making good use of the characteristics of Kyoto Prefecture.
- Outline/Progress:

By hosting overseas trainees, Kyoto Prefecture, which aims at making communities that will "walk together with the World", intends to develop people who can work as a bridge between Kyoto Prefecture and overseas countries, promote international cooperation and expand the prefectural network.
We accept technical trainees and administrative trainees from countries to which people from Kyoto Prefecture have immigrated (mainly Brazil) and developing countries (at the recommendation of JICA) and assign them to study at Kyoto Prefectural organizations and private enterprises.

The Program has contributed to promoting international cooperation in various fields for the improvement of technical skills in the targeted countries as well as in building Kyoto Prefecture internationl network.
It is hoped that Kyoto Prefecture will continue to proceed with the program to expand the network, which will contribute to the prosperity of developing countries.
