The host institutions, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, CLAIR, and the Agency for Cultural Affairs cooperate to provide the following training programs.

Group Training |
1) Tokyo Orientation
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and CLAIR prepare a program of information sessions for the trainees upon their arrival in Japan to help them smoothly adapt to life and study in Japan.
2) JIAM
Training
At the Japan Intercultural
Academy of Municipalities (JIAM), the training focuses
on the study of Japanese, as language ability will be an
important skill to support the trainees while living in
Japan and during their specialized trainings. At the same
time, there are opportunities for trainees to deepen their
understanding of Japanese local government, Japanese culture,
and other topics.

Specialized Training |
Specialized training in each trainee's respective field is provided at the respective local host institutions.
