Acquisition of work qualification certificate
The work qualification certificate is for the convenience of the foreigner and his or her employer. It is an authorization of status of residence proving specifically that the person is able to carry out the tasks of employment, if the foreigner wishes to do so. Apply at your regional immigration bureau.

Necessary documents Where to submit application/enquiries When Fee
1 Application for certificate of authorized employment
2 Photograph (1)
(size: 3cm x 2.5cm)
3 Passport or alien registration card
<in the case that permission to engage in an activity other than that permitted by the status of residence previously granted has been granted>
4 Permission to engage in an activity other than that permitted by the status of residence previously granted
etc.
Where to submit application:

 Regional immigration bureau in the area where you live
Enquiries: Regional immigration bureau in the area where you live, or a foreign residence general information center (please refer to “4 Inquiries concerning status of residence””)
When necessary 680 yen (stamp) when permission is issued
