1-3 Upon becoming employed
(1) Application for work qualification certificate
The work qualification certificate is a certificate proving that you possess a status of residence permitting work. It clarifies the description of the activities and the period for which you can be employed. You can apply at your regional immigration bureau to have the certificate issued. If you have a work qualification certificate, the description of possible activities and period of stay for your status of residence are apparent, providing reassurance to both your employer and you as an employee. In addition, this certificate is necessary if you change your job (Please refer to A Status of residence, 3 Acquisition of work qualification certificate)
