If a parent has contributed to the national health insurance or corporate health insurance programs, she/he can receive a lump-sum payment of childbirth and childcare when her/his child has been born. The amount is 300,000 to 380,000 yen per child for national health insurance system members and 350,000 yen per child for health insurance system members.
